Chicken Sausage and Rice

Chicken Sausage and Rice

Ingredients:
Chicken Sausage (I buy HEB brand. $4.97 for 5 sausage links. 1 link per person.)
Rice (I bought HEB brand Steamable Wild Rice for 2 people. It costs $1.14  I know you can buy cheaper rice. This one cooks in 4 minutes.)
4 Tbsp of Bbq sauce ( I use STUBBS Bbq Sauce: Original. It's low in sugar than most sauces.)
Broccoli (You can use any favorite vegetable.)

Directions:
Heat up chicken sausage for 10 minutes on Med or Med-High. Pour BBQ sauce on sausage. Stir.
Follow directions on Rice bag. It was 4 minutes in the microwave and 1 minute of cool down.
Bring pot to a boil.  Boil broccoli for 4-5 minutes until slightly tender.  Season with Mrs. Dash: Garlic and Herb.  I did not add butter, but you may add a small amount of butter to the broccoli. I did add grated Parmesan cheese.

There ya go! Super Easy! 20 minutes with prep. 400 calories per serving!

Price: About $2.15 a person. (This is a little more expensive than my average dinners, but it is DEFINITELY cheaper than eating out.)

Health Tip: Try and make your vegetable side the largest part of the plate.  Your vegetable is the most important part!
